The Belgrade Library and Community Center serves as a beacon for gathering, learning, and connection in this rapidly growing community. Its design in both form and function is inspired by an extensive community engagement process to ensure the space truly reflects the needs and desires of Belgrade’s residents.

Dissimilar Metal Design contributed custom blackened steel elements throughout. These steel forms ground the building’s material palette in contrast and craft, their dark finish reading against lighter structural surfaces and natural materials. The blackened steel brings a sharpness to the project’s exterior conditions, durable enough for a building designed to last a century.

Beyond the metalwork, the project’s design brings genuine civic presence to a fast-growing town. New community spaces, carefully considered materiality, and the connection to the adjacent park make this more than a library.

The Belgrade Library and Community Center is built to meet the needs of its residents for years to come, and the quality of its details reflects that ambition.
