DMD Weathering Steel
West Long Branch, NJ
2026
DMD provided the full design-assist, engineering, fabrication, and delivery of the custom metal facade and landscape elements for the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music (BSACAM) in West Long Branch, NJ. Dissimilar Metal Design (DMD) supplied all finished metal components directly to BAMCO performing installation.
The centerpiece of the project is an expansive Weathering Steel facade system finished in DMD’s proprietary weathering steel patina. The system integrates a variety of custom metal types including flat panels, angled panels, and plate fins/louvers. These were developed through DMD’s detailed shop drawings and geometry studies. These documents define attachment methods, panel configurations, and complete quantity takeoffs covering approximately 22,000 square feet of facade metals.
The nuance and personality of the panels is quite literally now part of the story of American Music —
