DMD Weathering Steel
2018
The College of New Caledonia (CNC) Technical Education Centre is a new facility in Prince George, BC designed by the Office of McFarlane Biggar Architects + Designers (OMB). The 76,300 sqft structure is being built using a custom fabricated and patinated Weathering Steel Facade system by Dissimilar Metal Design. Known for it’s durability and environmentally friendly low maintenance properties, the Weathering Steel will serve as a material respectful to the beautiful and sensitive environment of British Columbia.

The sustainability that Weathered Steel provides will further assist the project team to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard with a net zero increase in energy consumption. The project was completed in late 2018.
