DMD Weathering Steel
Bozeman, MT
The Norm Asbjornson Hall at Montana State University is a new state of the art 110,000 square-foot building which will house parts of the MSU College of Engineering and the MSU Honors College. It features nine classrooms, 17 laboratories and a presentation hall called “Inspiration Hall” and also feature an “Innovation Alley” where engineering projects will be on display, as well as large windows overlooking Grant Street to let in natural light.
Dissimilar provided weathering steel pre-patinated with the DMD Preweathering process. The material was used around the exterior, soffit and ceiling for the cornerstone massing.

The project was designed by ZGF Architects of Seattle, and constructed by Martel Construction using a Weathering Steel custom facade fabricated by Dissimilar Metal Design.
Construction of Norm Asbjornson Hall was completed in January of 2019.
