DMD Weathering Steel
Located along Dexter Ave in downtown Seattle, this redevelopment project provides a bike and pedestrian-friendly commercial building in the South Lake Union neighborhood. The project includes the demolition of an existing 6-story reinforced concrete structure and existing on-grade parking, constructed in 1984.
Dissimilar provided custom-fabricated and patinated weathering steel panel systems with recessed hardware in multiple areas of the building. The DMD preweathered steel can be seen at ground-level landscaping as well as along the exterior of the facade. It has, amongst many other things, an ultra high automated tech bike locker system which is on full display behind a glass area of the facade.

Site redevelopment goals include a 10-story high-rise structure with penthouse level to accommodate office and research laboratory uses and approximately 3 levels of below grade parking. Ground-level entries planned on Dexter and Roy will provide access to a building lobby, retail space, and office elevator lobbies. A vehicular entry near mid-block along Roy St will provide access to an internal loading dock and below grade parking.
